Reading comprehension

While working out a reading comprehension(RC) , there are few things that one should really be concerned about :

1) Main Idea of the passage: It is nothing but the opinion of the author or like what author has more talked about. Many a times It can be something which occupies majority of space in the passage. In general, It is found in the beginning or the ending paragraph of  the passage.

2) Supporting ideas given by the author to put his point are generally found in the middle of the passage. The words indicating the supporting idea are Firstly, Secondly, Thirdly, Apart from that, Besides that. Also at times supporting ideas are rendered through examples.

3) Vocabulary in the context should never be neglected rather it is always better to find the contextual meanings of the difficult words.

4)** References given by the author at different places in the passage are something to be careful about. Whenever you see any demonstrative pronoun such as this / that / those / these , It is required to go back and find out what it is referring to.
